Taking a Walk on the Wild Side

All these photos were taken at the Lowry Park Zoo a little over a week ago. This is the American Bald Eagle. It had only one wing.
One of the teenage girls at my church said we could name this chimpanzee after her brother because they look just alike - lol!
Ring-tailed lemurs. Kali's favorites at any zoo.
A red lemur.
This group of photos were my favorites because this little guy was so good at posing :O). He is a Wolf's Guinon. He loved the camera.
The crazy thing would run at the wall, bounce off from it, and spin around like he was dancing - so funny to watch!
An Angolan Black and White Colobus.
The African penguins were a lot of fun. Kali played with this one for quite awhile. I posted a video on facebook.
A Striped Hyena.
Kali took the above shot of a Meerkat. Isn't it cute?
I have no idea what type of bird is shown below. I loved the colors. I don't recall its name, and I can't find it on the Lowry Park Zoo website. Sorry.
We had a great time at the Lowry Park Zoo. It is supposed to be one of the top three zoos in the country. It really was wonderful and well worth a trip to see not only the animals, but also the landscaping and scenery. I will be posting at least one more set of photos featuring that scenery. Hope you enjoyed these photos. Which animal is your favorite?

I think the bird is my favorite because of the pretty colors, but I have always had a fear of birds flying around me...that they would get stuck in my hair, silly, huh?? Enjoyed all your pictures. Haven't been to the zoo in years!!!

Did you take these? They really look professional! I couldn't pick a favorite, probably your daughter and the bird:)

Beautiful photos of the animals! I love going to the zoo to photograph the animals. I usually take my nephew with me (he's 3) because he loves the animals. It gives me an excuse to go pretty often.

I've been kind of out of the blog loop for a couple of weeks. Life was just too hectic.

I just returned from a trip to Arizona where I saw Monument Valley. It was breath-taking. I will be posting more photos of Arizona on my blog.
