I hate to rub it in to my snowbound blog friends, but this is what winter looks like where I live. These are pictures of Cocoa Beach and were just taken a week ago. Sun, surf, sand, swimsuits, shells, sand pipers, shorelines ... you get the idea :). Sorry.
I literally sat my camera on the ground to take this shot, right after high-tide.
We love living in the south, but I do miss the snow. I envy you guys living up north where it is snowing already. I grew up in Newfoundland and have so many fun memories of snowmen, sled and toboggan rides, iceskating, snowball fights, blizzards (interpreted no-school that day), and so much more. Yet, as I get older I really appreciate living in the south. I don't know that I could do what my dad had to do every day - shoveling out the car before work, figuring out what roads were open so he could get to work, shoveling the sidewalks, salting the steps (I fall enough without the assistance of ice on the steps). I miss the fun parts of snow. Yet, you can't beat swimming and playing in the surf in late November :).

These are really beautiful. Nice job Alice. :)
I'll trade you some of that snow. It's been cold and snowy going on a month here. Great photos! She looks so peaceful and unaware. The crab is great too!
Don't you just love it? I will take the beach over snow anytime. These pictures are great. Snow is fun for about 1 day.
From Newfoundland to Cocoa Beach??? What a dramatic difference!
I'm lamenting a possible move to Columbus, OH. That's WAY too cold for me. I barely make it through MD winters.
These photos are really beautiful. I am so jealous of you! I'd love to live near the beach.
I lived in Tucson, Arizona for a couple of years and it was great. There are only 2 seasons in Tucson, spring and summer. However, I really started to miss the snow so my husband and I moved back to Kentucky where all of my family lives. I miss Tucson sometimes, but I think I'll probably stay in Kentucky.
Beautiful pictures!! And yes, I'm very jealous. I'll always be a FL girl at heart......brr....
