Week #34, Before and After @ I ♥ Faces

Photobucket
This week at I ♥ Faces, the challenge is "Before and After". This photo is one of my first pictures I edited when I began getting serious about photography. At that point in my photography journey I was satisfied with the results.

Well, I've learned a lot since then. This second photo is one I took during the past month. I applied many of the skills I learned here at I ♥ Faces in the taking and editing of this picture. I focused more on cropping, grabbing the catchlights in the eyes, smoothing the skin, balancing the levels, and overall sharpening the edges. Seems I've come a long way. Maybe the young lady in that first shot would be so kind as to allow me another photo shoot :O). To see other Before and After edited shots, just visit I ♥ Faces. You can even join in the fun!

Good Job Alice! I can totally see a difference! Did you soften her skin too because that looks lovely : ) It is so fun to learn, isn't it? : )

It's funny, I went back to a year ago in a post previous to the I Heart Faces challenge and was amazed at the difference in my photography. You have definitely learned a lot! :0) great editing.

Awesome!! I love your after shot. It's amazing! Unfortunately, I think I'm still taking most of my shots like your before shot! Perhaps someday I'll get one like your after! It's beautiful.

Very nice! The first is a nice photo, but I agree, the editing on the second is MUCH better! Isn't it great to see how much you've grown?

Your after photo is beautiful. I love the natural editing you chose to do to enhance her natural beauty. I think the angle you captured is fun too. BTW, we do love Al Mohler and how wonderful for your daughter to be able to sit under such great teaching. Blessings to her as she starts at Boyce.
